BIS is proud to work in collaboration with a variety of local, national and world-wide institutions in a trusting, cooperative atmosphere :
1- French Ministry of Education : The Primary section of the school is under contract (‘contrat d’association’) with the French Ministry of Education and is regularly inspected to guarantee the quality of teaching and ensure coverage of the French national curriculum. Students are automatically accepted into their next school in France.
2- Council of International Schools (CIS) : The Council of International Schools (CIS) is a global non-profit membership organisation that provides services to schools, higher education institutions and individuals focused on international education.
Within CIS membership are schools that have achieved a mark of high quality and rigour - CIS International Accreditation. This recognition signifies that the school has completed a comprehensive self-study and international peer review as part of a continuous improvement process focusing on standards and indicators that promote the development of student knowledge, skills, attributes and actions aligned with the CIS Definition of Global Citizenship. Colleges and universities worldwide acknowledge that a CIS Accredited School meets internationally-agreed and recognised standards and develops global citizens with the qualities and skills that they are seeking in students.
CIS International Accreditation is recognised by the National Association of Independent Schools (USA), and by many government and non-government agencies around the world.
BIS has been an accredited member of the Council of International Schools since 2000.
3- Cambridge International Centre (CIE) : BIS is a registered official examination centre for internationally recognised qualifications, run by the University of Cambridge.
4- European Council of International Schools (ECIS) : BIS is a member of ECIS, a collaborative global network promoting the ideals and best practices of international education, which provides professional development opportunities to its members.
5- Local authorities & Bordeaux Gironde Investment (BGI) : BIS is recognized by the local authorities as being an essential part of the community. All four local and regional authorities (the Town Hall of Bordeaux, the Communauté Urbaine de Bordeaux, the regional and local councils) have provided financial support in the various stages of the school’s development (accreditation, moving premises, etc.). This support has been made possible due to the continual support and involvement of the BGI agency.
