CURSUS
Early Learning
The teaching team at Bordeaux International School (BIS) proposes an original bilingual programme from the age of three years, in line with French and British standards. Early Learning classes, small in size (a maximum of ten children per level), are led by native-language teachers. The children learn a third language, Spanish, from four years old, via weekly lessons. Language is developed in a natural way within a personalised, benevolent and stimulating environment.
At BIS, our experienced and attentive international team helps each child to develop autonomy, initiative, respect for others and self-confidence, from the youngest age.
Building Bridges
Rainbow and Yellow classes have been exploring how and why humans construct bridges. They have studied the Pont de Pierre, Pont Jaques Chaban Delmas and Eiffel’s Passarelle. The children have been designing and constructing bridges using a range of different materials.
In the Bordeaux vineyards
The pupils had the chance to discover the world of winemaking and grape picking. They collected enough grapes for them to be pressed and transformed into juice. Everyone got to proudly share the fruits of their labour with their family!
Discovering Africa
Early Learning students have had the opportunity to work on the theme of ‘Togo’ during their multidisciplinary class. They made Togolese doughnuts, made cloth dollies, learnt a song in Togolese, as well as some basic words of vocabulary – a wonderful trip to Africa!
