CURSUS
Primary
Bordeaux International School is committed to implementing the fundamentals of the French state educational programme in the Primary section, with which we have been under contract since 2010, for our French pupils. Anglophone pupils follow the principles of the British National Curriculum. The bilingual programmes in other subjects are developed by our teaching team in line with the school plan, reviewed each year, in order to integrate an international dimension and a global world vision. We emphasize cross curricular learning and create a stimulating and encouraging environment for each pupil, through collaborative and differentiated learning.
Our pupils are placed in different learning situations: individual, partnered, or in a group.
At BIS, our experienced and attentive international team helps each child to develop multilingualism, autonomy, initiative, respect for others and self-confidence, from the youngest age.
BIS at the Students’ Municipal Council
BIS renewed the civic commitment of our pupils to the Bordeaux Town Hall for the 5th time, by participating in the Municipal Children’s Council. A duo from Year 5 was elected on the 10th October, who will represent BIS for the two years of their tenure in a weekly collaborative session with 60 other children from the city.
Ancient Egypt and street art in Paris
Year 4 and 5 spent a day in Paris for their classes in ‘History and Art in Ancient Egypt’. They visited the Egyptian Antiquities section at the Louvre and took part in an art class with street artist ‘L’atlas’ at the ‘Musée en Herbe’. A fantastic day!
Everyone in the water!
Rainbow and Yellow classes have made a start on their 12-week cycle of swimming lessons at Piscine Judaïque. during this cycle, they will learn to take to the water without hesitation, to recognise a dangerous situation, and to move through the water while correctly managing their breathing.
